We have done a research regarding the attitude towards health and medicines among people 16-65 y.o. from Bulgaria.

The Bulgarian public appears to prefer herbal based medicines (more than 53%), which is the leading answer to the question what is their attitude towards health and medicines. It seems that they follow their roots and use homemade or herbal based medicines as it works best for them.

Respondents said that they visit their GP only if necessary (52.47%) and nearly the same percentage said that they take care of their health (51.56%), so we can see a clear connection between those three leading statements.

We can also see that they are ready for a truce in the long-running war on fake medicines and high prices: 32% say we need a greater commitment by the government to fight fake medicines and almost the same number are people who stand behind the statement that there should be strict penalties for selling fake drugs. The good news is only 2% think we should not take any action as fake medicines offer a cheaper alternative to branded drugs.

It appears that every third Bulgarian is afraid to buy medicine from the Internet as they might be fake, so this is another statement that supports the group that is ready to stand out against illegal drugs.
